The Belvoir field runs flat out behind the pack in full cry, horses stretched low across open grass. Alken built his career on hunting scenes painted from a rider's eye rather than a spectator's, and a run with the Belvoir — one of England's oldest packs — gave him speed instead of ceremony to paint. the leading horse's ears pinned back against its neck, reading the ground rather than watching the hounds. The chase forgives no rider who hesitates.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
