Accessibility
The site is built to WCAG 2.1 level AA and tested against it with an automated contrast and structure check before each release.
What we build to
- Text contrast of at least 4.5 to 1, and 3 to 1 for large type.
- Every control reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
- Touch targets at least 44 pixels square.
- Every page usable at 360 pixels wide without sideways scrolling.
- No motion when your system asks for reduced motion: pages render their final state at once.
- Colour never carries a message alone; every warning has words.
What falls short
- Each artwork’s text alternative is its title and maker. A description of what the picture shows is not yet written for every piece.
- The Curator’s room view is a picture of art placed on your wall. The pieces it suggests are also listed as text.
- Room photos and Studio previews are images; their content is described only by the request that made them.
