A sunken lane crosses the Belvoir's line, and the field drops down into it before scrambling up the far bank. Alken preferred the ugly obstacle to the clean fence — a lane crossing broke a horse's stride twice in one movement, and that broken rhythm was truer to a real hunting day than any tidy jump. the horse at centre, hocks bent hard under it, already gathering for the second leap before the first has landed. The country, not the horse, decides who follows.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
