Lady Thorne, sold once as the Maid of Ashland, shown at her low, reaching trot with no track or crowd around her. A mare's old name printed under her new one told buyers she had been remade by better training — pedigree by rebranding, the way the trotting world tracked improvement. The bare ground behind her, nothing to prove the claim but the stride itself. A new name is a new argument; the legs still have to win it.
