Klimt’s poster for the first Vienna Secession exhibition, depicting Theseus battling the Minotaur watched by Athena. The Secession’s founding public statement — a clean break from the Academy, announced on its own poster before a single painting was hung. The original printing censored Theseus’s nudity with a tree branch, at the authorities’ insistence — the censored version is the historically printed one. A movement, announcing itself and getting edited in the same breath.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
