Johann Bode's Uranographia of 1801 is the grand finale of the age of artful star atlases — the largest, most crowded, most ambitious of them all, mapping thousands more stars than any predecessor before science traded beauty for bare precision. His Cetus is the sea-monster of Andromeda's myth, coiling across a teeming field of stars, drawn with a late, delicate hand. After Bode, the figures faded from the charts and the constellations became mere lines. This is very nearly the last time the old gods and beasts were allowed to sprawl in full glory across the sky.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
