See pieces like it you can buyTwo men thresh a sheaf of grain in the psalter's margin, flails raised mid-swing — one of dozens of scenes of plowing, sowing, reaping, and threshing that make the Luttrell Psalter the single richest visual record of everyday agricultural life in fourteenth-century England to survive. Commissioned by Sir Geoffrey Luttrell, lord of Irnham in Lincolnshire, the manuscript pairs its psalms with an almost ethnographic survey of the manor's working year, alongside the hybrid grotesques and marginal fantasy for which it is equally famous. Historians of medieval agriculture still cite these margins as primary evidence — the flail's exact grip, the sheaf's binding, details no chronicle bothered to record. It is devotion and estate record-keeping bound into a single object, the labor that fed the Luttrell household immortalized beside the psalms sung in its chapel.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
