For two thousand years the Sun was held to be a flawless, unchanging fire. Then the telescope revealed spots crawling across its face — and Christoph Scheiner tracked them, day after day, proving the Sun was blemished, and turning. His great treatise laid out the observations in beautiful sequence, the dark spots drifting across the solar disc like weather. Another pillar of the old cosmos quietly falling: even the Sun, it turned out, was a changeable, spinning world.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
