Underwater, Tanmeijirō Genshōgo — “Short-Lived Second Son,” one of the fisherman brothers of the marsh — locks an enemy in a death grapple, blade in hand. Nobody had staged a fight beneath the surface of a river before; Kuniyoshi’s submerged duel is image-making a century ahead of the cinema it resembles. The current is carved as ribbons that wrap the fight — tattoo and water tangling until skin and river read as one pattern. Even underwater, he does not let go.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
