A poster for Sergei Eisenstein’s Bronenosets Potyomkin — the film whose Odessa Steps sequence became the textbook of montage. Eisenstein proved that meaning lives in the cut, not the shot; the Constructivist posters for the film advertise that theory in ink. Diagonal force, the ship’s guns, the crowd as pattern — the sheet moves the way the film’s editing moves. The cut is the weapon.
