The poster for Paul Wegener’s Der Golem — medieval Prague and its clay man brought to life, the founding text of the screen monster. Hans Poelzig’s Expressionist architecture made the film a landmark of design; the posters carry that same sculpted, hand-hewn darkness. The Golem’s bulk fills the sheet like masonry — a body built, not born, all weight and shadow. What the clay remembers.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
