A Posada calavera broadside, part of the same street-sold genre as the Catrina. Posada produced calaveras constantly and cheaply for the popular press — the form’s power was its volume and its reach, not any single masterwork. The same confident, economical line Posada used across hundreds of broadsides. Mortality, printed by the thousand and sold for a coin.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
