Josiel hung in the church of San Francisco de Paula in Uquía, a small town in the Quebrada de Humahuaca — the high Andean corridor connecting Bolivia's silver country to what is now northern Argentina. Uquía's church holds one of the most complete surviving angel-militia sets anywhere: a full wall of named, uniformed archangels, arquebuses raised, guarding the nave together. That completeness matters — most angel-militia paintings survive as scattered singles, sold off individually over the centuries. Uquía's set shows the form the way it was actually meant to be seen: not one noble angel, but a company of them, heaven organized like a viceregal army. This is the frontier of the Cusco School's reach — the same visual language, transplanted a thousand miles south along the Andes.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
