A Ranger Naturalist Service travel poster for Lassen Volcanic National Park, part of the same 1938 WPA/NPS series. Lassen Peak had erupted within living memory when this was printed — the series treated it with the same flat, unhurried confidence as any other park. The peak mid-eruption, rendered in the same handful of screen pulls as a quiet lake shore elsewhere in the series. Even a volcano holds still for the print.
