René Vincent’s resort poster for the golf links at Houlgate and Cabourg on the Normandy coast. The single most impressive object in the house: a station-hall poster at station-hall resolution, and dated 1930 — the exact last year our copyright gate admits. Vincent came from automobile advertising, and it shows: the golfer is drawn like a machine part, all confident curve and no fuss. The end of an era is usually its best-looking year.
