Graham Simmons’ 1921 poster for the South Cliff links, the English seaside golf holiday in full colour. The British counterpart to the French resort sheets, and one of the few pre-1931 English golf posters surviving at true wall resolution. The links, the sea, and the town stacked into one vertical — the standard seaside-poster grammar. Every great links was also a timetable and a hotel bill.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
