Mihály Bíró's 1927 Austrian poster for Laster der Menschheit, a linen-backed sheet of about 125 by 185 centimetres. Bíró was the most consequential political poster designer in central Europe — his 'Red Man' images defined Hungarian social democracy — and after 1919 he worked in Vienna exile, applying the same graphic violence to commercial cinema. The scale of the forms. Bíró designed for people moving past at distance; nothing here is meant to be read close up. An agitator's vocabulary, rented out to the exploitation trade.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
