A large Pathé Frères affiche, 161 × 118 cm, for Albert Capellani's 1912 short Le Tragique Amour de Mona Lisa, written by the young Abel Gance and issued from the Faria atelier. The painting had been stolen from the Louvre in August 1911 and was still missing when this film was released in May 1912; Pathé moved on the story within months. It is one of the earliest clear cases of cinema seizing a live news sensation, and the poster is the evidence of how fast the industry could move. The scale — nearly five feet tall — was meant for a boulevard wall, not a lobby; the drawing is built to read from across a street. A stolen painting, a missing masterpiece, and an industry already learning to chase the headlines.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
