Melchor Pérez Holguín (active in Potosí, Bolivia, c. 1660s–1732) was to the Bolivian side of the viceroyalty roughly what Quispe Tito was to Cusco — a named, individually documented master whose surviving, attributed work is exceptional in a field defined mostly by anonymous workshop production. This Saint Christopher, shown fording a river with the Christ Child on his shoulders per the saint's legend, is a rare chance to see his specific hand. Holguín worked in the same viceroyalty, the same visual moment, and often the same devotional subjects as the Cusco masters — but from Potosí, the silver-mining city whose wealth funded the whole colonial economy, giving his work a slightly different regional inflection.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
