See pieces like it you can buyAn original 1912 lobby card issued by Ambrosio Film of Turin for Satana, a four-episode feature tracing the devil through biblical, medieval, Renaissance and modern eras. Before the poster hardened into a single dominant image, studios sold films through card sets pinned in vestibules — a sequence of stills that let a passer-by read the story off the wall. This is the Italian version of that vanished display grammar. The photographic frame sits inside a printed border rather than bleeding to the edge; the card is designed to be seen in a row of its siblings. One frame lifted out of a lost film and made to stand for all of it.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
