A 1921 one-sheet for the Fox Film Corporation biblical epic directed by J. Gordon Edwards. Fox spent heavily to answer the Italian and DeMille spectacles, including a chariot race that reportedly took weeks to shoot. The film is now entirely lost — no print is known — so this sheet advertises a picture no living person has seen. The costume design, more theatrical revue than archaeology, which is exactly what the 1921 audience was being offered. An epic that survives only as its own promise.
