A dim speakeasy table: an overturned coupe, a dark spill glistening under one amber lamp, a smoldering cigarette in a brass tray, sheet music, a fedora brim in shadow. Painted in noir amber — the room where the party went when the party was illegal. Everything in the room is hiding except the spill. The best nights leave no name, only a mark.
