An Art Nouveau reverie: a fallen glass, a spill of green-gold and wine-red curling into vine and lily forms, gold-outlined, muted jewel tones. The turn of the century made even an accident decorative — the stain drawn as if it meant to be a border. Follow the spill and it becomes a leaf. That is the whole style in one gesture. Beauty is just disorder that learned to curve.
