Pierre Bonnard's breakthrough 1891 poster for E. Debray's 'France-Champagne': a woman in evening dress, a foaming glass, the bubbles filling the foreground. E. Debray's France-Champagne house, near Reims, is documented only in 1890s poster text and museum catalogs — absent from every modern champagne registry. The house is gone. Its place in art history — this poster launched Bonnard's career, helped push Toulouse-Lautrec toward lithographic posters, and is cited as a founding work of the modern art poster. The poster that started an art form outlived the house that paid for it by more than a century.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
