A second Cappiello absinthe commission, for the Ducros fils house — bold flat color, a single dramatic figure, the vocabulary he was still refining before it fully arrived on Maurin Quina. Ducros fils is unrelated to any modern spice company of similar name — this house is a dead absinthe mark, closed out by the bans. The confidence already fully formed here — this is Cappiello five years before his most famous devil, and it barely looks like a rehearsal. One artist, two ghosts, the same green hour.
