See pieces like it you can buyA comic-theatrical poster built on the recognizable likenesses of Sarah Bernhardt and Constant Coquelin — the two biggest names on the Paris stage — endorsing a "beneficial" absinthe. One more casualty of the 1910s bans; a mark that once bought the most famous faces in France to sell itself. How much cultural capital the house spent on this single sheet — theater-poster energy applied to a liquor ad, years before that crossover was common. The stars outlived the spirit by decades. The poster is what is left of the deal.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
