A chromolithograph bock-beer advertisement built from the style's classic vocabulary — goat imagery, barrels, drinking horns — for a St. Louis brewery that no longer exists. The American Brewing Co. of St. Louis is fully defunct; this is Americana from a city that once had dozens of independent breweries and now has almost none of the originals left. The density of bock iconography packed into one sheet — this was a house that knew exactly which seasonal signals its drinkers were watching for. The season came every year. The brewery didn't.
