An 1876 Currier & Ives lithograph, made in the American Centennial year, that a saloon could display to announce bock beer 'can be had here' — it names no single brewery. A period stock advertising print rather than a brewery mark; its publisher, the famous firm of Currier & Ives, itself closed in 1907, and the pre-Prohibition bock-poster genre disappeared after 1920. The blank where a brewery name would go — this is the generic window card any tavern bought by the bundle, the substrate the whole trade ran on. It advertised no one, so it outlived everyone.

Before a size goes on sale, the file is measured against it: pixels per inch at that size, how much of the picture a crop would lose, tone and sharpness. A size that fails is not offered, so there is nothing to choose wrong.
